Mysterious region hidden in the jungles of Papua. With a
height of 4884 masl, Carstensz Pyramid Peak is the highest point on the
continent of Australasia. Although Papua into Indonesia region (Southeast
Asia), but the mainland Papua is still one with the Australia continental
plates that can shift the Carstensz Pyramid Kosciuszko (2228 meters above sea
level) of the Seven Summits list representing the continent of Australia. This
is because the seven continents Seven Summits divided based on the theory of
continental plates that combine Papua, Pacific Islands, and Australia as a
continent, the continent of Australasia.
Carstensz Pyramid was first climbed by Heinrich Harrer who
wrote the book "I Come From The Stone Age" of the story of his trip
to Papua. Carstensz is technically difficult mountain of the Seven Summits.
Only a few hundred people have ever climbed Carstensz due to unstable political
conditions, and because it was hidden in the jungle. Be prepared to climb in
the snow, rain, with a torn glove due to the sharp rocks.
